• What is the Young Constructors Forum?

The YCF is comprised of future leaders, defined as early to mid-level professionals in the DC construction industry. The group is committed to personal & professional development of members through service endeavors, industry networking, educational programs and a peer-to-peer learning experience; The group also provides unique opportunities to interface with experienced professionals, industry leaders and educators that is often not afforded to employees at this level of experience.
 
• Who should participate?

YCF membership is open to employees of AGC member companies, whether a general contractor, specialty contractor, service provider, architect or engineer. Employees of non-AGC member companies may attend most YCF events, at a non-member price.
 
• What benefits do YCF Members receive?

Personal & professional development gained through a community of peers within the same industry, educational programs, and group participation in service endeavors for the local community.  Events are offered at a reduced price, and measurable benefits are gained.
 
• How does the YCF benefit the construction industry?

The YCF is an environment where early to mid-career construction industry professionals can build their capabilities as future leaders through service, education, and networking opportunities. Through YCF member involvement, the industry gains passionate and engaged professionals focused on the sustained success of the construction world. Developing the skills and knowledge to determine the best practices, the YCF members are the future generation of company and AGC leaders.
 
• How do YCF member companies benefit?

AGC of DC subsidizes the program which allows employees to network with their peers and seasoned professionals, as well as receive education and community service opportunities.  Companies gain employees with enhanced knowledge, leadership experience, and investment in the community.

• How do employees get enrolled in YCF?

Log on to www.agcofdc.org and click on the Event Registration button.  If you have registered for events on the website previously, use your login information which will be your email address as your login and your last name as your password unless you have manually changed them. If you have not used our event registration system before, the system will walk you through entering your information. If you have questions or need assistance, call Dawn Dekker, Director, Member Services at  703.673.9342  703.673.9342 .

• What are my company's YCF benefits?

Once a company is a member of AGC and an employee is registered as a YCF member, they are entitled to use the company’s YCF benefits as follows:

Education

1.       There will be several YCF-sponsored education events throughout the year that will be free for YCF members.

2.       There is a code supplied upon registration that allows free individual admission throughout the year to AGC training programs. Each firm receives a pre-determined number of free training sessions for use throughout the year, based on volume/membership dues. Not all events are eligible for this benefit.

General Meetings

1.       There will be several YCF sponsored meetings throughout the year that will be free for YCF members.

2.       There is a code supplied upon registration that allows free individual admission throughout the year to AGC meetings. Each firm receives a pre-determined number of free tickets for use throughout the year, based on volume/membership dues. Not all events are eligible for this benefit. 

YCF Event Codes

To activate your membership when registering for an eligible event, you must enter the applicable coupon code for the event. Only YCF members will receive admittance using these codes - AGC of DC reserves the right to bill anyone who inappropriately enters coupon codes for events.
