AGC of DC's Annual Washington Contractor Awards
The Washington Contractor Awards Program honors exceptional projects from the Metropolitan Washington DC area construction industry. This prestigious annual competition recognizes the accomplishments of member contractors in their professional roles on the winning projects. Entries are judged by a panel of owners and construction professionals working for firms which are not general contractor or subcontractor members of the association.
This program is open to all general contractor and subcontractor members in good standing with the Associated General Contractors of Metropolitan Washington, DC. All parties of a joint venture must be dues-paying members of the association.
All nominees are recognized at the awards event and winners are recognized from the podium and presented with their awards.

Entries due August 9, 2010 - Submission Application
Winning projects are selected according to the following construction criteria:
r Quality of Workmanship
r Project Management
r Owner Satisfaction
r Timeliness
r Safety
In addition, additional points are awarded for the following project attributes:
r State-of-the-art advancement
r Innovation in construction techniques or material
r Excellence in client service
r Meeting the challenge of a difficult job
r Contribution to the community
r Sensitivity to the environment and to the surroundings
Entries due September 10th – Sustainability Awards Application
There are two sustainability awards given. The Best Sustainable Project of the Year recognizes outstanding green construction and the Best Company Sustainability Program recognizes the development of a corporate culture and management philosophy that rewards sustainable endeavors.

The Washington Contractor LEAN Award will be presented to the project that best exemplifies the practices of LEAN construction principles.
