Who We Are
AGC of Metropolitan Washington DC is a trade association whose members include the top general contractors, construction managers, specialty contractors, and service and supplier companies supporting DC's commercial construction industry. Collectively, we bring a strong, influential and single voice to the industry, which is our greatest source of pride and legacy since 1929. We are one of 96 chapters affiliated with AGC of America representing over 33,000 members nationwide. Members of AGC of DC are also members of AGC of America. This affiliation affords our members with an even stronger industry voice and broader access to services, resources and activities available on a national level.

AGC of DC was built on strong relationships. To give our members the opportunity to meet one another and learn more about the industry as a whole, our chapter hosts the following events and programs:
Regional Meetings
Membership meetings provide all members with opportunities to network and exchange information, attend seminars on timely subjects such as BIM, Integrated Project Delivery, LEED, and Consensus Documents, and meet with fellow associates.
Networking Events
To provide the opportunity to meet others members in a more casual and fun environment. Our reputation for fun and professional events is well known throughout the area.
CEO Industry Forum
AGC holds a two day retreat so that Contractors and Owners can exchange ideas, information and best practices in a relaxed environment stimulated by industry speakers and a strong relevant program.
Young Constructors' Forum
AGC has committed to investing in its young industry professionals by offering this program. Participants are provided the opportunity to develop strong leadership skills and techniques, to learn more about how to get involved in AGC, and to network and share ideas with other industry professionals. Typical participants of the YCF are employees of AGC member firms who have been in the industry for under 10 years and are project managers, account executives, estimators, office managers, sales representatives or anyone who maintains a professional/managerial role in your company. The program allows this member segment to participate in networking and educational programs sponsored for them at significantly reduced prices and designed specifically for the needs of this group.
Annual Public Owners Procurement Forum and Owner Liaisons
AGC of DC holds an annual conference with both Federal and other public owners which digs deeply into issues facing our regional economy and procurement methods. We also host special meetings with organizations like WMATA, GSA and USACE to deal with issues like mega projects, and CM at Risk.
Committee and Taskforce Involvement
AGC of DC has standing committees and working taskforces dedicated to enhancing the industry and providing the members with leadership and recognition opportunities.

AGC members are. Through its partnership with District of Columbia, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County Public Schools, AGC of DC supports construction career academy programs that infuse construction and design into the curriculum for students who will become the future workers of our industry preparing them for both careers and college.

Annual Washington Contractor Awards
The most prestigious award an AGC member company may receive. Each year, AGC honors projects that represent the best construction projects the industry has to offer. Award recipients are featured in the year-end edition of the Washington Contractor magazine and judges are prestigious area owners. In addition, we recognize subcontractors, owners and architects for their contributions.
Logos and decals
AGC logos and decals promote the best contractors in the industry. Members are encouraged to use the logo on their company letterhead, Internet sites, job-site signs and business cards.
Safety Awards
Company Safety Awards are part of AGC's Safety Statistics Tabulation Program and are awarded each year and serve as a tool for members to promote their outstanding safety records when submitting bids and presentations to owners.
